Open Studios !

March 16, 3-6 PM

In parallel with my Vanity Plate workshop, I am offering open studio time at $20 per hour.  Feel free to sign up for 1-3 hours for this upcoming open studio time. I will bring all of my wax and carving supplies, including some that were not available at the workshop, and you are welcome to experiment. 

At the end of the class, if you choose to have your piece cast, I will charge a $45 fee that includes the cost of wax, casting, cleaning, and polishing your piece. I will also weigh your wax, convert its weight to silver and charge $3.6 per gram of silver. These are the typical casting costs and are not meant for profit on my part, simply to cover the cost of turning wax into metal! These costs can also be separated, if you would like to take any of the casting, cleaning, and polishing steps into your own hands.

If you are not finished with your piece at the end of class and would like to continue working on it, you can come back to the monthly open studios.

I will continue to add new tools and gadgets to open studio time as I find out about them :) While I will be teaching the Vanity Plate workshop concurrently with open studio time, you are welcome to ask me any questions as you work on your piece! I am even happy to work with you on including stones in your piece.

If you are interested in coming to open studio more than once a month, talk to me after your first session, and we can work out a time for you to continue working :)
